Enjoy Seafood on the Grill
Summer is the perfect time to break out the grill and get outside rather than be cooped up in the kitchen. This season, trade your steaks, hot dogs, and burgers for something a little more refined! We love cooking up seafood on the grill for a delectable summertime feast.
Swap out those heavy beef steaks for a thick tuna or salmon steak instead. They’ll cook up in less than ten minutes and can pair with any number of marinades for variety. You can also cook up a whole fish! Clean and grease your grill grate well and make sure the outside of your fish is completely dry so the skin can crisp up perfectly!
Shrimp is one of our favorite things to cook outside over a flame. Toss your cleaned raw shrimp in your marinade of choice for just a few minutes. They only need a few minutes per side to cook all the way through and are ideal for placing on skewers. Eat them with a side of vegetables or tossed in a taco with fresh salsa for a quick and delightful meal. You can cook scallops the same way. The trick is to use two skewers so they won’t spin around, and you can get those deep grill marks and a sear on each side.
Did you know you can also cook clams and oysters on a grill? They can be placed directly on the grill and often take less than ten minutes. You’ll know they’re ready when they pop open and the juicy meat inside isn’t too dried out.
If you’re looking for something a little fancier, toss some lobster tails on! Just coat them in a light layer of olive oil and your favorite seasonings. Once they’re cooked in about ten minutes, drizzle them with fresh lemon juice and get your melted butter for dipping! No need to dress up and find a restaurant, you can dine in your own backyard!
